Process to Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving) in PF

Update Date of Exit/Date of Leaving in PF of previous job / employment exit date is mandatory to apply transfer online transfer. The exit date can only be updated two months after leaving the job. Also, the Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving) can be any date in the month in which the final contribution was made Created by a previous employer.


This feature is based on one-time password (OTP). Thus it can only be Used by people who have activated their UAN and linked their UAN to verification The Aadhaar number and mobile number are linked to the Aadhaar number to get the OTP sent for verification for Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving) in PF.


✤  What is the process to Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving)?

● Go to the https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ and login using your UAN and password and fill the Correct captcha code. 



 Open EPFO Employee account

● See and Read Member Profile is correct.

➥ UAN Number,

➥ Employee Name,

 Birth Date, 

➥ Gender, 

➥ Aadhar Number,

➥ Pan Number, 

➥ Bank Account No. 

➥ Mobile Number, 

➥ E-Mail Id for Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving) in PF.

● Click on tab “manage" >> click “mark exit". 

● Under the “select employment" dropdown, select the previous PF account number linked to your UAN. 




● Under the “select employment" dropdown, select the previous PF account number linked to your UAN. 

● Open New Page in Member ID, Establishment (Company) Name and Employer's Last Contribution

● Select date of Exit, You can Select any date of Last Contribution Month By The Employer

● Enter Re-select Date of Exit 

● Select reason of exit for Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving) in PF.

  ➥ Retirement 

  ➥ Superannuation

  ➥ Permanent Disablement

  ➥ Cessation (Short Service). Any Other Reason.



● hen request for an OTP which will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. 

 ● After you enter the OTP, submit the request of Update Date of Exit (Date of Leaving) in PF.

 ● It may be noted that once the date of exit is updated, it cannot be changed.


The member can verify this by looking at his passbook. Member must log in

Its member Unified Portal. On the homepage only the member should go to View>

Passbook. The member must then enter his / her UAN, password and captcha to login

Once again. After logging in, the member can view the passbook of all his MID. If his P.F.

The same will be displayed as a credit entry in this latest passbook after transfer.
