SBI PO exam Pattern 2022
SBI PO Syllabus Phase-I:
Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination consisting of an objective test of 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have 3 sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:
Total Questions: 100
Total Marks: 100
Duration: 1 hour
English Language: 30 questions
Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions
Reasoning Ability: 35 questions
Note: Selection Criteria for Main Examination: Category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks secured in preliminary examination. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates having 10 times the number of vacancies (Approx) in each category will be shortlisted from the top of the above merit list for the main examination.
SBI PO Syllabus Phase-II:
Mains Examination: The Mains Examination will be conducted online and will consist of objective tests of 200 marks and a descriptive test of 50 marks. The descriptive test will be conducted immediately after the completion of the objective test and the candidates will have to type their descriptive test answers on the computer.
Objective Test (SBI po syllabus 2022): The objective test is of 3 hours duration and consists of 4 sections of total 200 marks. There will be separate timings for each section
Test – I: Reasoning and Computer Aptitude: 40 questions and 50 marks – 50 minutes
Test – II: Data Analysis and Interpretation: 30 questions and 50 marks – 45 minutes
Test – III: General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness: 50 Questions and 60 Marks – 45 Minutes
Test – IV: English Language: 35 questions and 40 marks – 40 minutes
Total Questions: 155
Total Marks: 200
Duration: 3 hours
Descriptive Test: A 30minute descriptive test with two questions for 50 marks will be an English Language (Letter Writing and Essay) test.
Selection Criteria for Group Exercise and Interview:
Penalty for wrong answers (Applicable for both Prelims and Mains Examination): There will be penalty for marked wrong answers in objective tests. For each question for which the candidate has given an incorrect answer, 1/4th mark assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at the correct score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
SBI PO Syllabus Phase-III
Psychometric Test: (20 Marks) and Interview (30 Marks): Candidates who qualify for GE and Interview under 'OBC' category will have to submit OBC certificate containing 'Non creamy Layer' clause. Candidates who have registered themselves as OBC but have not submitted OBC 'Non creamy layer' certificate and request to interview under General Category will not be entertained.
Final Selection: Candidates must possess separate qualifications in both Phase-II and Phase-III. The marks obtained in both the Main Examination (Phase-II), Objective Test and Descriptive Test will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III to prepare the final merit list. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Stage-I) will not be added to prepare the final merit list for selection. The marks obtained by the candidates in Phase-II (Main Examination both Objective and Descriptive Tests) and Phase-III (Group Exercise and Interview) will be normalized up to 100 marks as detailed below.
Maximum Marks: 250 (Main Exam) + 50 (Group Exercise and Interview) = 300 (Total)
General Marks: 75 (Main Exam) + 25 (Group Exercise and Interview) = 100 (Total)
The final merit list comes after obtaining the aggregate (out of 100) converted marks of Phase-II and Phase-III. Selection will be made from the candidates with highest merit rank in each category.
